Great late December 15-20 SSW - I'll take it. 3.5 hours on water with the 12m and a balmy 46 degrees. Not bad. Good winds kicked in at 3pm and the Fox and I were last off of the water. Latest sesh ever by the Calendar and it wasn't even that cold! The hard core MBKT all had smiles and grins going for this gift of a sailable Winter Saturday.

Lonnggg December and I think it's time to ride...
Long and out of shape but fun soft ride with JB. Overcast 50 degrees and moist 11 miles but we did it all without a FAT bike... But that's not likely to last - demo coming up next for me.

Moose Mitts are the bomb at Addison x2
Twice around in 1:36 minutes for 14.1 miles on a very cold 32 degree Saturday. Got a really great chance to try out the brand-new Moose Mitts to see how they work and they are toasty warm excellent wind protection. I can't wait to ride more as soon as I pick up a pair of these!

Cold 12m 2fer Weekend staying warm and dry.
Near perfect 15-20-25 SSW both Saturday and Sunday at MB. 20-30+ kiters out both days running 12's powered nicely. 3 solid hours both days with no breaks - no chill. Great 2-4' wave and swell sections both days just inside the tip of the MB beach point was great for working on wave timing and figuring out the kite pull/slack and transitions. New drysuit perfection, super warm and paired with 5mm fingered gloves - loved it. 41-43 degrees no problem. Give me more weekends like this.

Lex disappoints with rain, snow, gusty holey 20-40 winds and West....
3.7 rigged with 40 N gales followed by snow and frequent drop to 20 NNW and help I need a 5.8! Jerry and I gave it our best in 30-40 degree temps which actually weren't the problem. The day was ruined by the west components and the nearly ever changing weather and inconsistent wind speeds. Shame even the waves were down for what should have been a huge day.

KP rages into full gale with sun, driving rain, rainbows and BIG waves. Big Saturday.
What can you say 30-40 NNW all day solid with occasional nuclear 40+ blasts. 3.7 overpowered with too much board on my FSW 84. I needed a 77! Lots of kites raging on 5-9m and loads of windsurfers on 3.4-4.2m. Huge waves to 12 feet bys days end after it started small at 9am. Really fun with some really great full planing duck jibes in the biggest gusts. Probably only fell in a few times and had more than my share of unintended jumps blasting through the surf. SLH was focus of wind and place to be today. Even Reef Warriors from west Lake Ontario St. Catherine's made the 3 hour drive. They were all great sailors with GoPros so I hoping there's video to find out there...

Sunday Addison Twin Loop
Excellent fall morning 45-55 degrees with full sun and dry trail with no leaves. 2 full speed loops with barely another sole to be seen. Great ride here only 20 minutes north of the house.

Woo, Rain Monday but great sun Wednesday for Harsens
Last 2 days of this great streak of wind this week. Wind 5 out of 6 days is something rare around here.
Monday: kiting in the rain and SSW 15-20+. Misery of rain and dark skies with the glory of only about 6 kiters out. 2 hours of wet fun and teaser for....
Wednesday! 25-35 West at Harsens. Sunny and 60 degrees with about 30+ sailors and kiters out. Started 4.2 overpowered blasting then after about 30 minutes down to the 3.7 for an hour. Great tiny curling waves made for few jumps but holes and gusts made it so had to go back to the 4.2. Got in 2 hours before it dropped to 20's by 2pm. Time to kite. 9m Rebel fix was in and kite was fast in the big winds. Easy upwind made for great downwinders working on the jibes and topside. Day flew by like Keith on his 12m handling 30++ peak winds like a pro. Memorable day to round out week.

SSW Metro 3 days in a row Friday, Sat and Sunday
Good three days a blur now as I get out again today:
Friday: SSW 15-30 way overpowered on a 5.4 good short session out at the point but 4.7 would have been perfect. No slogging here.
Saturday: SW again 15-25 4.7 got out late for underpowered sesh then winds drop and shift west and rebuild as I head off to Keith 50th at CBFD!
Sunday: SSW 15-30 gusty but perfect powered 12m nice almost 3 hours with a little 4.7 pointe session. Thank god for kiting. Off for more right now Monday!

Demo dazed at Bloomer Friday evening.
2:23 hrs and 21.3 miles to ride to Bloomer and find Specialized Demo going on. Fell in love with 2015 Camber FSR Carbon Expert Evo. $5900 dream ride with 1x11 XT everything and new Pike RS fork. Stiff and solid as or re-rode the trail I just did on my junky old 2012 Stumpy. Want vs. need? Great ride even if my bike is a little loose and heavy. Glad I didn't demo more!

Solid fun kiting last weekend - still living off it. 2 posts in one. While we wait for fall winds....
Late post here for last weekend. Greta weekend. Got out late last Saturday for a solid 3-5pm 12m session at metro with all the regulars - now number 30-40+ kiters. Sun and 15-20 SSW winds that didn't look kiteable but we're good enough for a great long sesh. Good appetizer for tomorrow....
Sunday at Harsens and SW to W to WNW 20-30 with cooler temps and clouds and occasional rain and sprinkles. About a dozen of us out and started right away with the 9m Rebel. Perfect setup for the Carbon Mako and staying way upwind and playing on downwind carving along the shoreline. Wen to the surfboard later and then finally the 4.2m Atlas and the 84 FSW for a great hour in 25+ west winds. Lots of jibes and carving 360's with a few jumps. Really nice sesh I between the kiting and pulling on some different muscle groups. Swell was really fun as well - just about a perfect 2 a sport day. Looking forward to more this with fall here now. We need it after a really poor wind season. Kiting filling in really well for all the missed WS.

Pontiac good and dry for all the rain we had...fast
58 minutes and a cold sweat with chilly 59 degrees and clouds with a little sun. Fast and really a ton of rocks, roots and sand. So intense and quick I was too exhausted for the second loop I promised myself. This trial has everything.
Harsens for the Rebel testing, wish it was longer!
A good one at Harsens but short. Got out late while most of the gang hit it early. But it paid off with NW 15-20 just barely enough to try out the new used 9m 2012 Rebel. Super fast in the air and super light bar pressure. Worked well since everyone else was on their 12's. Got some solid rides and playtime turning and jibing it. This is the go to kite for anything 20+ great range and the 5th line relaunch and control seem to be as great as everyone claims. Nice taste of things to come in the fall I hope.

Sunday at Highland oh my!
2:20 in a long endless ride but flowing fast fun. Mostly dry and hard other than a single mud puddle at the entrance was a nice suprise after the big rain storms on Friday. This place is always a challenge but cool temps, dry trails and sun of fall will bring me back to try and kill this dragon.
