HI rocks with no forecast- sun and NW!

2 solid hours on 11 and Duke at HI. Really clean glass at slicks and some small waves on the outside of canal. Good to be riding with JB, TJ and KM. 66 and sun with 15-25 NW. I’ll take it after 2 weeks waiting!

Island Lake for the Mem Day Ride

Another steamy 4/5 loop during the heat of the day. Lake swim celebration ensued.

Holly is Hot for the 3 Day Weekend

Sunday 2-4pm Sunny and 86 degrees but mud lingers. Buried the front tire in the sand 5 minutes from end and the new pads totally saved my right knee and elbow.

Thursday night at a mostly dry SC.

Rocks and roots mostly all dry. Lots of hikers and bikers on the trail. Needed the ball for sure.

It’s Saturday and HI time to hit the water

11AM Saturday Forecast looked good but cold but is was super light 9m for first 30 Minutes. W10-20 to start then total drop and I slog over to far end of side road and I get the long walk back to the launch. The 1 hour later is game on and 2 solid hours on the 9 and the Duke. Fun and Cold day actually worthy of the drive.

Metro Sunny and Dead South

11am and MB beckons for first try on the foil. 10 Boxer winds 10-15 SSE to start. Went to beach to try flying on the water... not so good. Much harder than I thought to roll up and even just ride flat! The pull of the kite just so great on coming out of water that I put too much pressure on back leg and BOOM the foil pops up and bucks you off. Couldn't even ride on port - my week side. Anyway 2 hours in water in drysuit a was cold and wet. Luckily I want to get some rides and it picks up to South 15-22. I grab the Duke and get some more on the 10 still while everyone at launch is in on min. 14m. Really impressed with the kite pull and not missing the 14m (now sold) at all. Last session on the Mako solid as well but the launch tough on dead south. 40+ kiters out and park packed. Great Saturday to be out and riding.
