Saturday delivers 2 sport day!

Super Saturday!Really solid good stuff. 8-9am 4.7 Dead S to SSE out to the shoal alone for a perfectly powered wave sesh then to the 3.7m with JAB from 9:30-11. Only issue was slough back from shoal as wind dipped and moved west. Next lets kite for a few hours on the 12m with the carbon Mako making everything so smooth and easy. Love this board. Great fall day with about 40+ people out and little not of everything with winds 10-35+. There by sunup and home by sundown doesn't get any better... Other than being warmer.

Friday Metro Dawn Patrol Gale

Worth getting to metro at 7am - an hour before sun up. Overnight gales were the call and a chance to rig the new 3.7 Naish Force paid off. Nuking SW 20-40 for a nice 3 hour session that I shared with 3 other kiters on 9M's. Great AM session. Like to start everyday like this.

Metro Fall Saturday cold blast. 9 out of 10 session.

Ok That's more like it. Finally a day with some wind! Saturday out off the point at MetroBeach winds SSW 20 to 30 perfect 4.7M and lots of waves and whitecaps. Great day with about 30 people out. Winds were consistent cold and chilly throughout the day but died with the rains at the end. Overall really good stuff: jumps, slashing and bashing lips galore. Beats sitting at home watching the leaves fall.

Cold gale fail - thank god for kiting

Winds to 30? No, SW at 10-15. More like it. Good enough for 12m power and carbon Mako multihour sesh at the newly designed MP. Very kite friendly launch site and no more trees really to block winds. Good fun but too cold for wetsuit now. Falling temps and Drysuit mandatory. Props for Keith skating without abandon - fun to watch. Good midday fun with maybe 4-5 kiters out.

Harsens. Sun, winds and strapless

Great 12m day at Harsens Island. Near perfect 10-20+k winds and 65 degrees with clear skies and sun. Loved the new Carbon Mako 140 and got 2 hours on SS Pit strapless! Got up on first attempt but quickly learned you got to be further forward and legs spread. Never got pulled off once even in heavy chop and gusts. Paired with 17m in lighter winds this setup will excel. Rode Craig's Ceratias strapped (loved it, great fast quick planing) but hardly put feet in. I'm fully committed to it now with nothing but pads. Lots of quick learning to balance and feather/fly the kite, but its a rush to ride with nothing but your feet and pressuring the deck. Also quick learning curve to roll up out of water with feet arched and board flat. I think anyone good with kite can pick it up quickly. Glad I stuck with, new dimension to riding a 40 liter mini wave board.

Sunday Stoney works for me especially the DH stuff.

Late eve ride on Sunday, got in 10 miles in about an hour doing the DH loops (numbers 28 on) at Stoney. Really good fast flow and some tech stuff. So much fun I did it twice. There's alot here thats flat and long for the first half but the stuff deep in the woods and hills is great. Close to home and easy to ride into and create your own trail setups - I will be back before the leaves are all down.

Wet and fast Pontiac

With Jabber a quick 10.4 miles in 58 minutes. Not too for all the rain we had. Interesting that 68 degrees with 99% humidity felt like 90 degrees. Let's get some sun abs wind back.

Time to ride the Home Track

20.3 miles in 1:45 to Bloomer which is pretty rad in the second half. Rim ride and steep channels. One mistake clipped in... Long way home. This place takes the cake for steeps and Utah like riding.

Pontiac is dry, lets ride!

10.6 miles in 56 minutes following John B for last half. Little wet but fast and gets the job done when there's little time to ride. Next time it's Highland.

Grinding Holly in Cool September

1:49 hours for 15.5 miles. Cutting it up on this trail which is still sandy, tough and has everything including knuckle breakers complementing the wide 29er bars. Good afternoon ride second only to Highland.

The waiting lame in Lexington

Ok got in solid overpowered 5.4 for 1.5hrs after 4 hours of mist and missed 20-25 North forecast. Rain continuously appearing only over South Huron coast for the whole morning only to clear after 1pm. Had 4 huge jumps and couple nice waves but water was choppy and steep. Worth the drive and day off - just barely. Ill take though.

2 sport Lex classic. Sun, 70 and NE winds

On water before 8am - epic 3-6ft. smooth curling defined waves. Tons of East made it down the coast underpowered but excellent jumping and wave riding. Had first hour all alone with sun coming out of marine layer which disappeared by 11am with declining breeze. Time for kiting in waves! Light on inside but solid out. Got 3 hours in with no depower. Great day temps, sun, winds and great wave action. Kite saved day since I got nothing bigger than 5.4!

Oh by Gosh Oh Holly

iPhone dead and rain clouds split for a great 15.5 miles in 1:50 at Holly Grubbers. Tons of sand and 4 bar hits on trees but no damage with the sit at 3/4 setting. Really a good ride at 70 degrees and cool 100% humidity.

Case closed! Caseville works for the NW blow.

Scored a great 4 hour sesh at Caseville Co. Park on Labor Day. Nice building NW winds to 25 by 5pm and great shallow sandy shoreline riding with little waves and building swell. Ideal spot even with near onshore conditions. 12m perfect kiting and even had to depower for the first time. Had some excellent sliding speed turns too with the kite down in the power zone. My best outing so far and seeing the wave potential for the soon arriving directional. Lastly, Craig and scored private beer tasting at Scott's new venture Thumb Brewery, opening next year. Great IPA, Stout and Porter! 14 hr. day out before 8am and home at 10pm.

Great Lex kite day

Friday afternoon 3 solid hours on the 12m. 75 degrees not a cloud in the sky and 12-18 NE with a tiny swell. Perfection in getting out especially since the windsurfing boys out were armed with 7.5M's.

Highland Sandy Hot Sunday

10.6 in 1:03 really sunny hot dusty fast. Pontiac uphills definitely pay well but you just got to watch out for the sand.

Addison Twice around. No Helmet no problem.

Forgot the skull bucket but that didn't slow me down after putting on an old Baseball hat. 12.9 miles in 1:23 in going around twice. Dry and fast with little humidity and 80 degrees. Nice ride and lots of flow when you know what's coming the second time around.

Highland High. Fast and "D" is Done.

2:03 for 14.7 miles of up/down/turn/slow down. Perfect temps and trail condition. Great tough ride and on a SingleSpeed, John is KOM. Highlight ride of season so far. D was really actually fun for once. This place is still a mind bender though.

HS week of Kiting closes on a NW at PSP loaded with big potential never to arrive.

Two final days on LTB. Good kiting on the 12 with 2-7pm thermal clear and blow. Great trip and while no sailing the kite filled the gap and provided a great medium wind alternative right out in front of our condo. Add a 16m and it would fill the whole week!

Boyne Orange Seat down

Super fast and flowy with a little moisture to add to the thrill. Great late afternoon ride all the way up the far south ridge and then into the Blue to Orange. Huge diseased tree loss on final half of ride really changes things up and brightens ride. Hope that doesn't spread to resort....

Perfect LTB PM pickup on HS

Great 12M kite afternoon with 15-20k solid sun and swell. Almost 3 hrs. In one long session. Perfect setup with NW launch here at Tannery Creek. Need a smaller board now! Check put my new kite caddie.

Holly looping and dropping.

Super fun with some great 3' drops and walls on the Holly West loops. 9.3 miles for 1:10 and really fast and flat free. Great quick alternative to Grubers when you don't have 2+ hours.

Hot Friday: 95 and 25+++

Woo. Super hot and windy SW at metro. All day. 25-30 on the 4.7 solid past the pointing the open waters. Very few boaters or even people at metro which was surprising. Not much swell but some lips and waves later on the shoal. Amazing I had like 2 hours alone way out blasting overpowered 4.7 loving it. Where is everyone? Rigging down. Almost like being at Gorge.
