Sat 6/23 Torn Shirt Murray Lake Very Fast

No wind so lets get out on the Stumpy! Tried Strava App for new GPS very cool but killed my battery so I only got 3/4 of route tracked. That's ok because I took a side thorn flat (missing my tire slime protection) and a wash out turn crash. Otherwise an awesome long 17.73 miles in 1:45 doing the lost loop on Murray Lake. Great ride that features everything from Highland like mazes to Pontiac climbs. Bike was so fast I had a couple full brake near fly off the trial moments in tight turns. I'm going back here soon perfect for 29er full susp. training. Strava very cool, good stats and tracking - will use going forward...

Thursday Hot Gusty Metro Mid-Day

Finally a windsurf day that started early 10am to be exact. I hit water by 11 and sailed 5.4 with 85 then later 101FSW until 4. Rains ripped thru and that was it. No kiting today with 15-25 west to SW mostly with gusts to 30. One of those days where the winds as strong as they were blew right thru the sail. But we'll take it!

New Ride Weekend - Stumpy 29er FSR Rocks

New bike is a dream. Unreal and almost not fair to the singletrack I know really well. On Saturday shaved 25 minutes off Island Lake (13.8 miles on 1:01) average with an over 10 mph average speed. Hills are nothing to this bike. Speeds are just insanely fast making a more engaging ride. Even front tire washout not an issue now with some ride adjustment.

On Sunday got a quick rain soaked ride in at Tree Farm. Again ripping the whole time. Shaved about 15 minutes off here and the flats and hills were nothing even in the harder gears. Felt I could even turn and angle the bike even better than the 26er. I see absolutely no disadvantages now going up 3" in OD. Full suspension is so perfect. Complete downpour at final 2 milesians new bike getting first clean down and re-lube. What a ride. 2 loops now everywhere!

Saturday June 2, Finally Metro Delivers

Great gusty 15-30 SW Metro day which saw 20+ S winds for windsurfing in the early AM and nuking 20+ kiting winds in the afternoon. Too much wind for the 12m kite in after 2pm with gusts to 30 but we held on before safety releasing for the finish. Windsurfing really good too, 5.4 Atlas overpowered with the 4.7 on standby. About time 4 weeks and counting since last sail. The kiting filled in nice here as well - even though I should have been sailing.

No riding in 3 weeks - lets do Highland

Highland A-D today with JAB Sports setting the pace an average of 5.2 mph. Totaling 16.87 miles in 2:23...the ride is ridiculously long and mentally exhausting. Physically I need a week off before I ride again. Great day.

4/24 Birthday Blow at Blue!

A great day at the blue lagoon which looked to start as a very sad day with holey winds and not enough to take the day off to go sailing. Started on 4.2 with schlogging, but by 5 PM it picked up to 4.7 Atlas winds, 20 to 30 K out of the Northwest, sun and 60° (although the water was very cold @ 48). This definitely made up for missing the 3m day on Monday. Keith somehow with temps and winds working the 5.2 really well...Good 4.5 day to turn 45!

Hatteras Day 7 Swap Meet Gear Time!

Enough now, time for gear... No wind - but swap gets us a used 2011 12M Liquid Force and 158 Cabrihna hull - were legit. Pack up time. Great trip.

Hatteras Day 6 and a kiting we go. 5.4 PM

Great couple hours with Brent on JB's Rally 12 as it picked up 15-20+ after 2pm. Yep were kiting and putting together some transitions. Good session learning and doing the practice moves. Need gear now....

Next up at 5pm was 2 hours of 5.4 Atlas fun with the 107 FSW. Great clean lanes as everyone had gone in and left me to have the sound to myself. Lots of tacks and 360 carves really milked it unde the end. No wind in forecast for tomorrow-boo!

Hatteras Day 5 Wednesday Winds from NE

Thanks to Tom a nice 15-20 NE 2 hour session at 4pm got the 107 FSW and 5.4 Atlas flying. Pretty decent but a long walk out and back with the shallow waters and unhelpful tide.

Morning with Sam at Real and 17M Slingshot was best yet. NE winds 12-17 and loads of rides and getting into transitions. Lessons were great and loads of ride time and things coming together. Now onto getting gear.

Hatteras Day 4 - let's Kite with Trevour

No windsurfing today but enough wind for morning SW winds 12-16 to take a Best TS 17M from Real down to our house! Lots of rides and progress with kite control. Great day and lunch at Mojos - more on kite tomorrow.
